Jinty's Mix

This is a monster mix. Clocking in at a full seven hours and thirteen minutes and containing 109 tracks, it's an epic party's worth of top quality tunage. I did it for one of my very best friend's 40th birthday parties back in June this year.

Jinty's Party kicked off a summer of total and absolute madness for me, yet it has remained one of the top highlights. The mix stayed on loop in the end and went round nearly 4 times! You got to give it up for Jinty and his not wife Timi, they know how to put a proper party on.

Jints does a truly amazing Freddy Mercury impression and the Queen tracks in the middle were timed to come up at midnight where the man himself did a very special guest appearance. Priceless.

This mix contains parts of other mixes available here, notably A Cup of Double De-Edit Breaky Disco Funk and BirthdayCD 2001. In a new departure for me it was mainly mixed using Traktor, so maybe I'm finally becoming a slight DJ after all. There's a few of the old crafty computer edits thrown in for good measure too.

I spent a pleasurable day with Jinty going through hundreds of tunes and we selected about 180 or so. Just over a third fell by the wayside. The rest are listed below. I could do this for your party too, or just come along and DJ - send me a message.

BirthdayCD 2001

This is a CD compilation I made in 2001 as a party invitation. It's a mixed bag of tunes genre-wise but quite a lot of hip-hoppy stuff. I still like it today. It's the usual edit not mix, but by now you should expect no different. I went to town on some of the edits in this mix doing stuff a dj just couldn't do - check out the I Monster tunes and the lead into the KLF.

FairyLove Peace CD

This is a compilation which I put together to celebrate the concept of Peace for my dearly beloved friends at FairyLove.com. I could bang on for hours about these guys, about the love they spread and the happiness they bring into every life they touch, but I'm not gonna do that here. Check out their site and even better, get yourself down to an event they're at (any major festival over the summer) and rock up and say hello. You'll get a welcome you won't forget.

Disco Lovin'

This is a mix of some of the very finest disco tunes ever known. That's not just a bit of hyperbole, it's a fact and I can prove it in a laboratory. I loved putting this together and everyone I've given it to so far can't stop playing it. Balearic-ish

This mix owes an enormous debt of gratitude to two people, without whom I'd never have grown to love these tunes so much. Steve Proctor and Sean Johnston are both DJs of the very highest caliber and I'm saying a big thank-you to both of them right here.

There's got to be countless former patrons of Steve's club from '89 and '90 who will recognise the great majority of these tunes and it's a testament to Steve that they still sound so good today. It seems funny to look back so lovingly at being packed into a tiny basement fitness centre with no bar or air-con and everyone totally dripping through with sweat - happy full days. It was the closest I ever came to having a religion - weekly observance was a must.

It's Balearic-ish as a few of the tunes clearly don't fit with being called Balearic (at least not in my reckoning of the term), but I still think they're cool and grooving tunes and they fit in nicely with rest. There's four, can you spot them all? It's a giant edit rather than a dj mix - that's how I roll.

Disco Party

This is a disco compilation, one of a pair, from December 2008. Party is the key word here - it's full of classics that everyone should know - if they don't then play it to them LOUD and make them dance, use a cattle prod if necessary.
